FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS

Personal Coaching

"Instead of sacrificing thriving to meet life's demands,

thriving becomes essential

to meeting those demands."

- Margaret Moore, Erika Jackson, & Bob Tschannen-Moran, The Coaching Psychology Manual

defining coaching

It's not therapy, it's not counselling, it's not consulting, and it's not talking to a friend.

Coaching is an action-oriented process focused on helping people achieve in the present and future.

Coaches do not advise, instruct, or direct people on what to do - the content of the sessions and the actions to be taken in between sessions are completely determined by the client. When you choose to work with a coach, you engage in a collaborative partnership with a person who is professionally trained in helping you unlock your potential.

It's also not magic, though the results can sometimes feel like it. A coach is simply equipped with the knowledge, experience, and scientific understanding to help people meaningfully improve their lives and achieve their goals.

PERSONAL COACHING SERVICES

I'm a Certified Personal Coach focused on empowering young adults to create sustainable and effective change in their lives. Centered around the knowledge that lasting change starts from within, I work with individuals to build self-awareness, strategies, and habits that ultimately help them you in confidence and fulfillment, even and especially during hard times.

I work with young adults - commonly new graduates, University students, and young professionals, - creating coaching programs that provide them the space and tools to meet their unique needs.

I created Journey to Thriving, a 3-month personal coaching program with the option of incremental 3-month extensions, for clients who have never worked with me before. I also offer single sessions on an as-needed basis for returning clients.

1

HOLISTIC.

People don't operate in silos - our professional lives affect our personal lives affect our inner lives, and vice versa. I help individuals develop their own internal compass and toolkit that takes into account all the various complexities of who they are as a human being.

THRIVING.

The heart of my practice is to help young adults thrive, defined as a state of mental and physical health, confidence, and fulfillment. We tend to say people are thriving if we perceive them to be "living their best life", enjoying great success, or frequently happy. But really, these are symptoms of a life that's characterized by holistic well-being and growth.

2

EVIDENCE-BASED.

I work from an evidence-based toolkit informed by the emerging interdisciplinary field of coaching psychology, and within a scientific framework based on findings of positive psychology ("the scientific study of human flourishing"). Credentials and experience also matter - I'm in the process of obtaining my Coaching Certification (expected 2020) and will begin a Masters study in educational psychology, positive psychology, and spirituality in the fall of 2020.

MY PHILOSOPHY

MY PHILOSOPHY

CONNECTION.

I believe that what coaching teaches us has the potential to effect cultural change in a positive and critically needed way. When one of us is thriving, we inevitably help to create the conditions for others around us to thrive, too. And we're all better for it.

4

My focus is on empowering young adults, the next generation of leaders, to thrive by creating

sustainable and effective change in their lives.

My clients are commonly navigating a life stage that developmental psychologists have called "emerging adulthood". This newly recognized period of life is characterized as an age of identity exploration, instability, self-focus, feeling in-between, and possibilities.

Examples of things my clients and I commonly navigate together include:

  • the struggle to set goals, to achieve goals, or even to know what they want in the first place;

  • feelings of frustration, being stuck, lost, or imbalanced;

  • the desire to have more control over their life;

  • relationships and dating;

  • career direction and growth;

  • building and sustaining confidence;

  • and/or simply the desire to improve their happiness and well-being overall.

WORK WITH ME

FOR NEW CLIENTS

I coach young adults with very different dreams and strengths and goals and challenges and circumstances, but they all have 3 things in common:

They arrive to my coaching with an open and curious mind, and they are committed to showing up and trying.

If this sounds like you, I can't wait to connect and see if we're a fit.
